Kathy Mohr-Almeida

Kathy Mohr-Almeida sees her candidacy for the SRP Board of Directors as a natural extension of her activism, which stems from a deep desire to change social systems for the betterment of vulnerable citizens and children. Kathy began her activist career with The Climate Reality Project Leadership Training in Chicago in 2013. Since then, Kathy has been heavily involved with climate crisis mitigation work. Kathy sits on the Grand Canyon Sierra Club Executive Committee, is Chair of the Palo Verde Group, demonstrates with Rainforest Action Network, and lobbies with Moms Clean Air Force both locally and in D.C.

Kathy completed her PhD in Integrated Studies with a concentration in Psychology at Union Institute & University. She practices as a psychotherapist in community behavioral health in the Mesa community. Kathy supports the climate activism of her daughter, Anna Rose, with whom she co-founded Kids Climate Action Network, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to climate crisis mitigation and youth empowerment.
