Sheila Motomatsu has an MS in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Arizona. She worked at the DOE Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM on the scientific research and development of airborne and space-based remote sensing systems and on the analysis and exploitation of acquired data. Sheila also worked on the deployment of remote monitoring technology through Sandia’s Cooperative Monitoring Center (CMC) for the purpose of enhancing global security. While working at CMC Sheila spent time in Japan at the Japan Nuclear Cycle Development Institute on ways to promote nonproliferation, environmental, and safety transparency of advanced nuclear technology; her work afforded interaction with major Japanese utilities which had significant nuclear power generation portfolios.
Sheila believes that SRP can and should utilize renewable energy options to the economic benefit of its organization and its customers and to the overall benefit of the environment. As a member of the board Sheila will endeavor to make this a reality. Sheila is a long-time resident of the beautiful town of Gilbert. Sheila and her husband have been married 24 years and they have three children who are 16, 14, and 12 years old.
